I am looking at a used L35, 2200 hours and the dealer is asking 22500.Is 2200 hours considered high for the L35 and are there something I should be aware of that normally would have to be replaced/fixed at this time. Also is 22500 a decent price?

Hello,
As long as these have not been real abusive hours, this is not that many hours at all. The asking price is about what the unit is worth. New L35's hover around $30,000, so I would guess the worth of this unit to be around what the dealer is asking. Probably no more than that, though. In other words, this is probably not as good a buy as the L4310, but, if it has been taken care of by the previous owner, this price is not too far off. It would be better if it were closer to $20,000 though. ....

Carsten, I know you don't want to look too eager, but you're going to have the check already made out, and take off work early to get there before someone else buys it, aren't you? ....

Make sure the hours are original and try to verify the year. If everything checks out on it, that is a real good price. ....

Carsten,
I have just gone through what you are doing. It took me about a year to
decide just what I wanted. I ended up with the L4310 HST with FEL,and Woods
9000 BH. I chose the HST over the GST as a matter of personal preference. Our
old machine has a shuttle transmission which requires clutching. Also I chose
the 4310 over the L35 only as my own personnal preference. They are both
great machines, which can do an amazing amount of work. The L35 does have a
more powerful BH, according to the specs, but for what I am doing my machine
will do everything I need, and I still have the old case for the bigger work.
Good luck with whatever you purchase. ....
